LAX Changes: Airlines On The Move

If you haven’t been to LAX lately, boy are you in for a surprise. The airport is changing right before our eyes. Over the upcoming weeks, massive LAX changes will be taking place.  “Not one, not two, not three, not four… but no less than 20” of the 70 various airlines will be playing musical terminals. This massive undertaking has already been teased by United on a massive billboard when you enter the airport from the south Sepulveda Blvd. entrance touting an upcoming move to terminals 2 and 3.

American Airlines confusing travelers

What with the recent merging of American and US Air, VIrgin and Alaska, etc. these LAX changes are well over due. You can expect new terminal, relocations of operations, ticketing locations and more. Hopefully, these LAX changes will reduce to current over crowding that currently existsand help turn LAX into a Gold Standard Airport

This delicate process will all but eliminate the guessing game that American Airline passengers go through daily. Is it terminal 4, 5 or is it terminal 6? These events will take place May 12, 14 and 16 starting with Delta Air Lines. Delta will relocate from Terminals 5 and 6 to Terminals 2 and 3.

As of this writing, we are unsure of what will happen to the various boutique airlines that now reside in terminal 2 and who if anyone, will join Southwest in terminal 1. Each airline will complete its relocation overnight and resume operations in their new location the following morning.

Are these LAX changes worth it?

Will these LAX changes pay off, only time will tell. What we can look forward to is, the end results leave us with a more convienient, efficient and user friendly airport experience.
