Storm Cancels Flights from LAX

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — Stormy conditions on the east coast have caused dozens of cancellations at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday, but only one airline and affected one market’s arrivals in Orange County, authorities said.

The severe late-winter storm struck the northeastern United States between midnight and 9 a.m., causing 35 departure cancellations and 48 departure delays at LAX, according to the FlightStatus website.

During that same time frame, there were nine arrival cancellations and 46 arrival delays at LAX, the website reported.

It was unclear if any of those flights were affected by Tuesday morning’s fog in the Southland.

John Wayne Airport reported only one airline and one market affected by the blizzard, a United Airlines arrival scheduled for 9 p.m. out of Newark, cancelled as of this report.
